Our curriculum

 

We use the online school curricula offered by Think Digital which includes three popular, and sought-after curricula. These are the British International, South African CAPS and the United States GED.  Each of these curricula are structured to be very captivating and interactive when completing online. 

 

British International:

The British International online school curriculum is a very structured curriculum within the online school curricula offered by Think Digital Academy. The British International is designed to meet the needs of all students, challenging brighter children while also supporting those who need more assistance through differentiated teaching and learning activities. This curriculum can only be completed in English and does require writing of exams / doing formal assessments throughout the year.

 

South African CAPS:

The South African online school curriculum is called the Curriculum and Assessment Policy Statement (CAPS). CAPS form part of the National Curriculum Statement Grades R – 12, which represents a policy statement for learning and teaching in South African Schools.  As an integral part of the online school curricula offered by Think Digital Academy, CAPS has proven very popular with South African families living both domestically and abroad.  This curriculum can be completed in Afrikaans or English. This curriculum does require writing of exams and doing formal assessments throughout the year.

United States GED:

Internationally, the GED® is the most recognised higher secondary certificate. The GED® program is the only higher secondary certificate offered in over 85 countries and accepted by almost all universities in the United States and many globally. The GED® exam comprises of four subjects, written as individual exams.  This curriculum can only be completed in English.  This curriculum comprises of modules which the student can complete at their own pace with a formal examination on four subjects.  

 

Typical day:

Morning mindfulness

To start the day without raising any of the stress and anxiety hormone (cortisol). This can be sitting outside in the grass and listening to all the sounds around or it can be listening to music. The student gets to choose from a list of mindfulness activities that they want to do on that day.

Curriculum lesson or child led development session

Allocated time to do curriculum work or self-directed development activities

Brain break

To remove any demands and extra sensory stimulation.   The student gets to choose from a list of activities that they want to do on that day.

Wellness sphere activity

Depending on the day of the week ( Physical, Emotional, Social, Psychological, Sensory, Communication, Psycho-social, Sensory)

Daily Programme:

Mondays to Thursdays 08:00 - 14:00

Fridays 08:00 - 13:00
